The Production Foreman has direct responsibility for the day-to-day business management of all aspects of production from critical operations. Reports to and receives guidance from the Production Engineer to successfully manage and operate marginal oil and gas properties in an assigned area. Coordinates with management to achieve the objectives and goals of the organization, develop plans to implement such goals and manage the implementation of these projects/plans. Duties and Responsibilities: - Design lease operator routes, preventive maintenance schedules, and work schedules for all assigned employees, including lease operators, mechanics, and multi-skilled contractors.
- Ensures all environmental and safety compliance issues are met.
- Must be familiar with State and Federal Oil & Gas regulations and ensure Company policies and procedures are followed.
- Facilitates monthly safety meetings with assigned employees.
- Responsible for setting daily priorities for the assigned area.
- Manage overtime for salary non-exempt employees in the assigned area.
- Minimize monthly LOE’s and generate ideas to reduce operating costs.
- Monitors daily activity, production rates, plunger cycles, and on going projects to ensure effective and economic production of marginal oil and gas wells.
- Maintain measurement equipment in good working order.
- Monitor oil and gas sales and act upon any and all variance issues to find resolution of any such variance.
- Supervise employees to ensure that oil and water tank stocks are cleared in a timely fashion.
- Report daily activities to management via End-of-Day Report format.
- Supervise the maintaining of spare parts inventory for compressors and surface equipment.
- Responsible for the ordering of parts and material for minor repairs and see to the approval of invoices resulting from these purchases.
- Responsible for setting daily priorities for the assigned area.
- Responsible for approval of vendor invoices for production related purchases, equipment, and services.
- Coordinates engineering aspects of production, workovers, compression, gathering, etc. with the Production Engineer.
- Informs and recommends to management the need for repairs to roads, locations, and surface equipment required to keep all leases in the assigned area in a safe and efficient operational state that reflects the Company standards and policies.
- Reviews performance of lease operators and mechanics including goal setting, monitoring, mentoring, coaching, teamwork, training and setting priorities.
- Reports directly to respective Production Engineer.
Required Qualifications: - Seven (7+) years of hands-on oil and gas operations experience.
- Good working knowledge of all surface and down-hole production equipment including plunger lift systems, compression, gathering systems, gas production enhancement, etc.
- Ability to develop overall operational goals and objectives and implement a plan to accomplish these goals.
- Organized and administratively proficient with ability to manage time and workload effectively.
- Capable of representing the organization to employees, contractors, and vendors in a supportive and professional manner.
- Good communication and team building skills.
- Previous supervisory/people management experience preferred.
- Requires a high school diploma/GED. Associate or Bachelors degree preferred.
