Vernon E. Faulconer Inc., an Independent East Texas Oil & Gas company with over 35 years in the business, has an opportunity for an Operations Engineer located in our Tyler, Texas Headquarters. Position performs a vital role in the management, planning, and successful completion of workover and recompletion projects on strategic Company assets. Direct responsibility for implementation of procedures and processes to enhance and optimize production of marginal gas and oil wells. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, extensive down-hole experience, strong detail orientation, and ability to make good technical and economic decisions. Position will work directly with Senior Management to achieve the organizational objectives and goals. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develops and/or researches new production techniques and approaches to enhance production rates and reduce operating costs for marginal gas and oil wells.
- Performs technical and economic evaluation of acquisition targets.
- Evaluates new properties, develops enhancement project plans, and oversees the overall implementation of enhancement program.
- Plans, manages, and coordinates all aspects of workovers.
- Develops detailed workover procedure in support of Production Operations.
- Assists in the continual monitoring of workover procedures and practices to identify opportunities to improve overall economic results.
- Provides engineering and technical assistance to Production Engineers and Superintendent(s) as needed.
- Coordinates the bidding process and purchase of materials for workovers.
- Responsible for evaluation, identification, and development of production enhancement opportunities.
- Provides mechanical engineering technical support and acts as a focal point for mechanical process improvement.
- Continually monitors engineering/operations technology changes for economic application to business.
- Supervises subcontractors providing service on-site.
- Responsible for AFE development, management, and evaluation.
- Monitors activities from the office and occasionally from field locations.
- Reports to the Operations Engineering Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Five (5+) years experience in Oil and Gas Operations and Engineering specifically with marginal gas wells.
- Diversified down-hole knowledge combined with strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in initiating mechanical process and procedure improvement.
- Good working knowledge of all surface and down-hole production equipment including plunger lifts systems, compression, and gathering systems.
- Well developed project management skills with capability to manage multiple diverse projects.
- Successful workover and recompletion experience.
- Good communication/interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact in group meetings and one-on-one.
- Experience in analyzing production logs and performing trend analysis.
- Demonstrated skill in presenting information in a concise, economic-based manner.
- Ability to work effectively as a part of a team to solve operational problems.
- Organized and administratively proficient with ability to manage time and workload effectively.
