Vernon E. Faulconer Inc., a growing Independent East Texas Oil & Gas company with over 35 years in the business, has an opportunity for a detail-oriented Compressor Mechanic located in the Minden/Ruston, Louisiana area. This position performs a vital role in repairing and overhauling engines, compressors, and other equipment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs repairs and troubleshooting on rotating equipment.
• Responsible for performing equipment alignment, deflection, and required millwright work. 
• Performs electrical and electronic repairs and troubleshooting.
• Proficient mechanical troubleshooting of problems on all equipment.
• Responsible for hookup piping on compressor and vessels, as needed.
• Adheres to all Company safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Responsible for site inspections to make required repairs or identify areas of concern to be addressed. 
• Performs rebuilding of starters, clutches, and other auxiliary equipment.
• Proficient in the operation of tools and auxiliary equipment to accomplish job responsibilities.
• Performs work in shop operations and field operations, as required.
• Reports to the Production Foreman.

Qualifications:

•  A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Technical school certificate and/or diploma in compressor or engine mechanics preferred.
• A minimum of 2+ years experience with maintenance operations preferred. 
• Strong mechanical aptitude required.
• Demonstrated proficiency in engine analysis, welding, and cutting operations preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of oil and gas surface production equipment preferred, but not required.
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with members of small and large teams.
• Demonstrated willingness and ability to work unscheduled hours if required.
